Lifeline 135 Assistance Program

 

The Lifeline 135 Assistance Program is a federal benefit that is available to qualified residential customers to assist with their monthly local dial tone service. If you qualify for the Lifeline 135 Assistance Program, you will automatically receive a reduction each month of $9.25 off your telephone bill. 

Lifeline 135 Assistance is a non-transferable service and is limited to one discount per household.  Only eligible consumers may enroll in the program.  You may be eligible if you or someone in your household participate(s) in one of the following programs OR your yearly household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

PROGRAMS:

  • Federal Public Housing/Section 8
  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance
  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly Food Stamps
  • National School Lunch (Free Plan Only)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
  • Supplemental Social Security Income (SSI)

Per state and federal guidelines, LTS customers are required to complete a Lifeline 135 Assistance Application as well as provide proof of program enrollment/household income in order to qualify to receive the Lifeline 135 benefit.  Forms are available at our business office, or you may call 570-685-7111 or email customerservice@ltis.net to have the forms sent to you via US mail or electronically. 

Your completed application and documentation will be reviewed by LTS to verify that specific, predetermined regulations set by state and federal governments are met.  Qualifying is wholly dependent upon these state and federal regulations, and you will be notified via US Mail as to whether your application has been approved or denied.
